Axial fans are designed to move air in a straight line through the fan. They typically contain a rotating shaft with blades similar to the blades of an aircraft propeller. When the blades spin, they suck air in from one side of the fan and push it out the other side. This creates an airflow that runs parallel to the axis of the fan.
